When you give something meaningful to someone else, you’re paying forward the generosity you’ve received. Plus, you’re investing in future rewards.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.” -Jesus (Matthew 6:2)

“Religious” people are trying to prove their piety and worthiness to God and others. When someone afflicted by religious delusions gives, they want credit, fanfare, notoriety. Jesus says, that’s fine. Glad you gave. But need to be “repaid” with credit will result in a loss of blessings in the future.

Just think of that! If you invest your giving by supporting others in need today, God promises to bless you now and going forward into the future. And I’m pretty sure that means with interest!

Don’t rob yourself by needing credit now. Give quietly, humbly and generosity. It pays.

Pay it forward and profit for eternity.

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” —Jesus (Matthew 6:3-4)
