Tomorrow has more potential if you wake up a few minutes earlier.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35)

Don’t wake up early just to wake up early. Have a plan. Most days, this is my plan: TASKS (CLICK HERE for ‘Tasks’ article)

But everyday, it’s critical to spend a few moments alone, connecting, praying, preparing.

I just heard a story about Kobe Bryant preparing before a busy day of podcast interviews and other obligations. Kobe arrived at the office an hour prior to anyone else. When the podcast interviewer, Lewis Howes, arrived for the interview, he walked past an empty office, lights off, no movements. But Lewis could see the shadow of Kobe, sitting in his chair in the dark–meditating, praying, preparing.

I paraphrase Abraham Lincoln: “The busier the day, the longer I spend in prayer in the morning.”

Wake up a few minutes earlier tomorrow. Use the time to quiet your mind, prepare your heart, and connect your soul. Who knows what the day may bring? You’re living a great story, anything is possible!
